Toyota 4runner Sunroof Wont Open

What really sucks if you open it and can t close it.

Toyota 4runner sunroof wont open. I took the map light unit down to get to the motor and it looks like something is seized up cause when i push the button the gears start to turn but then slide over and rub the plastic housing. It jst wont open at all theres no noise or anything when the button is pressed. In my 4runner i don t use my sunroof in fact i keep the shade closed too. When i press the button either way i hear a quick click and then nothing.

If your sunroof isn t working and you can t hear the motor running go to step 2. If you can hear the motor clicking when you push the switch for your sunroof go to step 3. First of all if your sunroof is stuck open and you need it closed quickly go to step 1. I have a 99 4runner and the sunroof won t open.

I m a vampire btw. Well you shouldn t have opened it to begin with. Could not find any videos or info so i hope this helps. I have a stuck sunroof in the open position.

I bought my current 4runner with a jammed open sunroof i had another parts rig at home and swapped it out. I love the little gilded monster and i will be the last owner. This is the 3rd time i had tore apart this sunroof and finally fixed it. You could always just disable the sunroof and not open it.
